Product Description
The very rich and extremely greedy Duke Brothers (Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy) wager a bet over whether “born-loser” Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) could become as successful as the priggish Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Akroyd) if circumstances were reversed. So begins one of the funniest, most outrageous comedies of the 80s, cementing Eddie Murphy’s superstar status. Eddie Murphy was a pro on SNL. At a young age the then moved him to commercial success because he was a natural. I think he was in his 20s here and could hold his own playing the lead along with Dan Ackroyd. Directed by John Landis every scene is hilarious or a set up for a wild plot. I saw it long ago and after SNL 50th anniversary show I hunted to find this movie, one of my favorite Eddie Murphys, his second movie.
