Product Description
This traditional call is not just a whistle, but a musical instrument. Used by navies around the world, including Australian, British, Malaysian, US, and South African navies. The only Boatswain to be used by the MOD and NATO. Supplied with full instructions and charts for producing the many official calls. Sterling silver, silver-plated, gold-plated, and rose gold finishes come packed in a presentation box. British Admiralty pattern Boatswain's (Bosun's) pipe, original Acme design from 1870. Originally used for giving commands to the crew, its high-pitched notes could be heard in the worst gales. Now largely ceremonial, it is supplied with a leaflet of instructions and historical details. As seen in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," used by Madam Hooch when training the students to use a broom. Also featured in several prominent sci-fi films and television shows.
