My particular model was made in Taiwan. The SOG website states the Kydex sheath model is made in Taiwan and the nylon sheath is made in Taiwan or China. Knife is a good size light and handy. I don't particularly mind the use of AUS-8 steel at this price point, it is easy to sharpen and maintain. They are plenty of durability test videos to show the toughness of the knife. The blade clicks into sheath with a nice click and has the ability to be worn at different heights. Unless you are specifically looking for a plain edge I think this kydex sheath version is the better choice over the elite version.
