  I have clay-like soil and removing weeds is the most frustrating thing ever. I bought this, assembled it in a few minutes and set my sights on weeds that needed backbreaking work to remove. Just follow the instructions, center the claw over the middle of the weed and out it will come. I have noticed the very spindly weeds don't come out as easily as the big fat ones but the tool will loosen the soil so you can pull it out by hand. The Landzie Weeder is a fantastic tool!

  I debated on ordering 1800's designed Grandpa's weeding tool or this one, which the Landzie weeder is similar to Grandpa's weeding tool with a few alterations. The Landzie tool is metal and the handle comes in 2 pieces that screw together, not to mention is currently $5.00 less expensive than Grandpa's weeding tool. I worried over the weight of the product, but the metal is really strong and I don't need to worry about stepping on it and breaking the handle. The weight of the metal handle can be a bonus because it is strong enough or has enough torque to pry a weed out without requiring too much strength from the user. Another one I really considered was the Fiskar weeding tool that had this really nice feature where it had a sliding piece that pushes the weed out of the fork. But the Fiskar was $47 compared to the Landzi $34 product. If the Fiskar product was all metal, I would have bought the Fiskar weeding tool. Even though I own many Fiskar gardening tools, but because Fiskar had plastic parts I didn't feel that it would justify the extra cost nor will it last. I was able to test out the Landzie tool this last weekend. It works well. It's a bit harder to grasp the smaller dandilions, but for the most part, it works fairly well. I just step on the weed to remove it from the fork. If Landzie will alter the design to include a piece that will push the weed off the fork like the Fiskar tool, then I would definitely give the Landzie tool 5 stars. However, since the Landzie tool does not have this feature, I only ranked the Landzie tool 4 stars overall.
