I'll say first, I am one who HATES the smell of Hoppes 9. It gives me a headache after a while. That being said, I've used Hoppes 9 since I cleaned my first gun, somewhere in the 80s. It's safe, effective, inexpensive, and can be found anywhere. I've never not been able to clean a gun with 9. There may be other products that can do a deeper clean, or perhaps more of a copper remover if your barrel is heavily copper fouled.....but still, this WILL work and clean your gun. This is the only gun cleaner I will ever own.
