These bone folders (also called bonefolder, burnishing bone, and folding bone) is a dull-edged hand tool used to fold and crease material in crafts such as bookbinding, cardmaking, picture framing, origami, leatherwork, and other paper crafts that require a sharp crease or fold. Also useful for turning corners on cloth and leather, scoring paper, folding, smoothing out surfaces, and burnishing surfaces of various materials. For picture framing, the burnishing bone is used for fine finishing of edges on picture mats and can eliminate rough edges caused by knifes, and makes overcuts less obvious. The perfect shape, this creasing tool features both a tapered pointed tip and a round end. The pointed tip is great for creasing and scoring paper, cutting clay, and getting into hard to reach corners while the wide end ideal for smoothing scored crease or for burnishing rub ons. Made from genuine bone, due to the natural material, these tools may vary slightly in color and shape.
