The 64 Plus has the ability to support ROM images up to 512Mbit (64MBytes) and has high-quality Micron RAM on board. This allows for a larger selection of games to be played on the cartridge. The cartridge is designed to be compatible with SD and SDHC cards that have FAT, FAT16, or FAT32 formatting. The maximum size for the card is 32GB. Additionally, the 64 Plus supports regions for the USA, Japan, and PAL, allowing for games from different regions to be played on the same cartridge. The 64 Plus is the latest game save device cartridge for American, Japanese, and European versions of the N64 console. This means that users can save their progress in their favorite games, making it easier to pick up where they left off. The cartridge comes with the latest operating system (OS) version, and it has a CIC chip installed. This chip ensures that the cartridge is compatible with the N64 console and makes it ready to play as soon as it is plugged in. The 64 Plus has a position switch that needs to be set according to the region of the N64 console being used. If the console is a European version, the switch needs to be in the P position, while American or Japanese versions require the switch to be in the N position. This ensures that the cartridge is compatible with the console and can be used without any issue
