Brought to you by AmishTastes, here is the classic Amish-style, wet-bottom Shoofly Pie, baked at the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop on Gibbons Road just outside the village of Bird-in-Hand. The Bake Shop produces premium baked goods and is well-known for its homemade, old fashioned, wet-bottom shoofly pies. A “wet bottom” shoofly pie has a gooey molasses bottom, cake-like middle and crumb topping. For those of us who have that irresistible sweet tooth, Wet-Bottom Shoofly Pie is a "must have". The shoofly pie is by far the most popular dessert made by the Amish here in Lancaster County! If you are like us, you'll find it's hard to stop with just one slice. Shoofly pies are packed in a white bakery box of heavy cardboard for safe shipping.
